ENABLE - European Nutrition Alliance to Bolster the LEadership program
On March 10 2007, seven universities agreed to establish a formal alliance to promote research in Food and Health in Europe. This alliance will partner the industrial sponsors of ENLP through direct funding from those universities or institutes which have candidates who are successful in the ENLP selection process. The seven universities are:
- Newcastle University (Human Nutrition Research Centre, School of Clinical Medical Sciences)
- University College Cork (Department of Food and Nutritional Sciences)
- University College Dublin (UCD Institute of Food and Health)
- University of Navarra (Department of Food Sciences, Physiology and Toxicology)
- University of Oslo (Department of Nutrition)
- University of Ulster (Northern Ireland Centre for Food and Health, School of Biomedical Sciences)
- Wageningen University (Division of Human Nutrition)
Since that date, subsequent signatories are:
- MRC-Human Nutrition Research
- Queen’s University of Belfast (Institute of Agri-Food and Land use (IAFLU) School of Biological Sciences)
- Spanish National Center for Cardiovascular Research (CNIC)
- University of Aberdeen (Rowett Institute of Nutrition and Health)
- University of East Anglia (School of Medicine)
- University of Postdam (Department of Physiology and Pathophysiology of Nutrition, Institute of Nutritional Sciences)
Each university and institute will contribute € 300 per annum to ENLP in the event that one or more student/s or staff are selected to participate in the ENLP and each partner will commit to a frequent contribution to the annual ENLP course (e.g. as an after-dinner speaker, champion in the case study, board member).
